1930’s Wedding Gown Attracts Vampires Thursday, Sep 6 2012

A gown to sink your teeth into…

Here we have another gorgeous 1930’s vintage wedding gown. You can tell the era by the hip hugging mermaid like skirt. A nice deep v-neck with ruffle sleeves adds a simple touch of elegance to make you feel like a Hollywood bride. No way to tell if this is her husband or a vampire in the photo, but vintage gowns are sure to attract even the most soulless of men. 🙂

Vintage Flower Brooch Wednesday, May 2 2012

A diamond lasts forever… and ever… and ever. This vintage brooch has gorgeous detailing both with the indentations, shaping, and diamond placements. This would make a great dress accessory or the groom could wear this instead of a live flower on his suit jacket. Another way to keep those memories as lasting as the diamonds on this brooch.

Part of a collection found on David Webb’s Site. David has a great selection, and has been making jewelry since the 30’s.

Bow-ties or Neck-ties??? Tuesday, May 1 2012

So many vintage looks include a dapper gentleman dressed to the nines. Both a bow-tie and a neck-tie will get the job done and have you appearing savvy, saucy, and many other adjectives that start with ‘s’.

Which one would you prefer? and possibly have you dressed to the…. tens!

Kind of like your grandma's quilt, but better.

Great bow-ties for a spring wedding!

Personally, I'm a sucker for paisley

These are so precious and delicate. They would go well with a vintage lace wedding gown.

Four options that would look great in any season

Darling dots for the groomsmen

Vintage ties may come in different shapes and sizes

The bow-ties below are part of a vintage collection from Beau Ties Ltd.

These would go great for any formal occasion

My personal favorite… Taken from The Pastry Studio.

Bow-tie required no longer excludes the cake

So my question for my blog readers would be:

Bow-tie or Neck-tie?

Pattern or solid color??

If you had to pick two ties from above, which two caught your fancy???

Cake icing ties are a valid choice… just saying.   🙂

Here’s a tie from the 40’s for the groom to wear. This has managed to escape PETA’s attention for years now. Give him a silk tie with a funny character for your wedding, it’s bound to be a riot.

The bride shouldn’t be the only one wearing vintage at the wedding. Find some vintage ties with elegant detailing to them for you or your soon to be man.

I particularly like the 1940’s and their style of clothing. Find out which decade suits you best so you can suit up.
